About the role
- Mitratech is seeking a senior Site Reliability Engineer III to own and evolve CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud platform engineering practices.
- The role involves operating independently on complex problems, making architectural recommendations, and mentoring junior engineers.
- The engineer will participate in on-call rotations for pipeline and infrastructure events.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, and Jenkins.
- Build reusable pipeline templates and shared libraries to standardize delivery patterns.
- Drive pipeline governance including branch protection, PR checks, and environment promotion strategies.
- Implement pipeline quality gates such as SAST/SCA scanning, container scanning, and compliance checks.
- Architect and manage AWS compute services including EC2, ECS Fargate, EKS, and Lambda.
- Manage AWS data services like RDS and Aurora, including operational runbooks for failover and patching.
- Author and maintain AWS CDK applications and Terraform/OpenTofu module libraries.
- Implement GitOps workflows for all IaC to ensure zero manual console changes in production.
- Operate and maintain AWS Bedrock integrations and QuickSight infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotation for pipeline and infrastructure events.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years as a DevOps or Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer in production.
- 4+ years with AWS as the primary platform.
- Hands-on CI/CD expertise across GitHub Actions AND at least one of Bitbucket Pipelines or Jenkins.
- AWS CDK proficiency (TypeScript or Python) for Lambda, ECS Fargate, SQS, RDS, and IAM patterns.
- Expert Terraform skills including module authoring, remote state management, and workspace strategy.
- Deep AWS Fargate experience including task definitions, auto-scaling, and ECR management.
- AWS Lambda operations including packaging, layers, event source mappings, and concurrency management.
- AWS SQS experience with queue design, DLQ configuration, and batch processing integration.
- AWS RDS/Aurora operational experience including failover, patching, and IAM authentication.
- Strong Linux administration including RHEL/Amazon Linux/Ubuntu hardening and systemd.
Preferred qualifications
- AWS certifications: Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or Security Specialty.
- AWS Control Tower / Account Factory for Terraform (AFT) for multi-account landing zone management.
- HashiCorp Vault for dynamic credential issuance and secrets management.
- EC2 Image Builder or Packer for golden AMI pipeline automation.
- AWS Step Functions for complex serverless orchestration.
- DORA metrics instrumentation using LinearB, Sleuth, or equivalent.
