About the role
- The Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team is seeking a Software Engineer to provide development support for core tools.
- Candidates with a machine learning background will help establish new ML infrastructure to optimize system parameters and detect performance regressions in CI.
Responsibilities
- Provide software engineering and development support for core team tools.
- Stand up new ML infrastructure to improve system parameter optimization.
- Detect performance regressions in CI pipelines.
- Develop and maintain high-performance software for multi-target tracking, data fusion, battle management, autonomous robotic control, and mission planning.
Requirements
- Professional experience in one or more of Python, Rust, C++, or C.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, functional programming, and REST API design.
- Experience building low-latency or real-time software.
- Experience with software testing, including Robot Framework testing and integration test development.
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants (Claude or Codex) in daily workflow.
- Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications
- TypeScript or JavaScript, React, and/or NodeJS
- Python FastAPI
- CesiumJS
- Experience with faster-than-real-time (FTRT) simulation
- Machine learning background in hyperparameter optimization, anomaly detection, or explainable ML
- Experience building Slackbot integrations
