About the role
- The Software Engineer II, Full-Stack - New Verticals will contribute to the development of Deliveroo's grocery and retail ecosystem.
- This role involves working within a three-sided marketplace to build and maintain solutions that empower merchants to manage orders and inventory efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Improve code structure and influence system architecture.
- Review code of any scope produced by the team.
- Simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems.
- Monitor the visibility, operational readiness, and health of team systems.
- Build relationships with other engineering teams and identify collaboration opportunities.
- Own larger pieces of work and assist with design and implementation choices.
- Influence the roadmap within the team.
- Participate in the hiring process and conduct engineering interviews.
- Support the personal growth of colleagues and encourage efficiency.
Requirements
- Experience writing web-based applications in any language.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with web architecture at scale (20krpm and above).
- Experience with NoSQL data backends such as Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, or Memcache.
- Experience solving logistical problems with software.
- Pride in readable, well-designed, and well-tested software.
