About the role
- As a Technical Program Manager at Zapier, you will be the execution engine for the engineering organization's day-to-day operations.
- You will own the operating cadence, manage critical initiatives from intake through launch, and build frameworks to help engineering leaders make informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Establish and run the engineering operating cadence, including monthly operating reviews, planning cycles, and cross-functional decision forums.
- Design and manage the intake process for engineering initiatives, ensuring every initiative has a clear goal, success metric, responsible team, and strategy alignment.
- Drive standardization and reduce duplication across engineering teams by defining shared templates, standards, and operating norms.
- Partner on strengthening incident and operational excellence, supporting the maturation of incident management practices and postmortem discipline.
- Steward engineering organization health and engagement by owning the end-to-end cycle for engagement and pulse surveys.
- Program-manage organizational changes and readiness for major shifts in how the organization works.
- Run the product feedback and AI tooling governance loop and help establish how the engineering organization makes decisions around autonomous AI actions against critical systems.
- Own current portfolio initiatives such as the changelog and results-tracking system, Product Readiness Framework, and design operating-model support.
- Work closely with engineering leadership, engineering managers, product, and design to coordinate across zones and keep the organization operating smoothly.
Requirements
- Track record of running cross-functional programs end-to-end across teams without direct authority.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-paced change.
- Technically fluent with modern operations tools and capable of writing clear technical documentation like architecture decision records.
- Experience building frameworks, intake systems, or governance models that teams used beyond their original scope.
- Experience working in or closely with engineering organizations, ideally in an operations capacity.
- Data-comfortable, proactive, and skilled at communicating asynchronously and adjusting messages for different audiences.
- Generalist by nature with the ability to pick up unfamiliar domains quickly and maintain a low ego.
Preferred qualifications
- Atlassian or Jira administration experience
- Comfortable learning tooling ecosystems quickly
