About Anthropic
- Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
- Anthropic is hiring a Technical Program Manager to own the program of work expanding access to life sciences verification programs and scaling it safely.
- This is a cross-org execution role responsible for scoping, sequencing, managing dependencies, and driving technical work across safeguards, platform, and product engineering teams.
- The role does not require a life sciences background and will help grow access for the community over time.
Responsibilities
- Own the program for expanding access to Anthropic's life sciences verification programs: scoping, sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs across safeguards, platform, and product engineering teams
- Scope and drive the cross-org engineering work that each expansion requires, from new plan and account types to new platforms
- Partner with the product manager to turn program goals into a sequenced plan with clear owners and dates
- Drive clarity on data access, retention, and review requirements, and on the changes they require across safeguards, access, and provisioning
- Drive user experience scoping across the Claude product surfaces where the program is available
- Find and remove the technical blockers that keep eligible organizations from accessing life sciences capabilities
- Establish the operating rhythm: a single view of workstreams, owners, dependencies, risks, and status, with planning, escalation paths, and launch coordination across orgs
- Convert recurring efforts into documented, repeatable processes so that each new expansion requires less bespoke coordination
Requirements
- Several years of experience in technical program management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional programs
- Experience coordinating across multiple engineering teams and organizations simultaneously, including safeguards, platform, and product partners
- Ability to engage meaningfully with the engineers doing the work, from platform and access systems to product surfaces
- High organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams effectively across distributed teams
- Ability to thrive in unstructured environments with a knack for bringing order to chaos and creating clarity in ambiguous situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- A field of study relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Preferred qualifications
- Have worked on cloud or platform programs
Benefits
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- Optional equity donation matching
- Generous vacation
- Parental leave
- Flexible working hours
Workplace
- Location-based hybrid policy expecting staff to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles possibly requiring more time in-office.
