About the role
- The Advisory Solutions Architect joins the Pre-Sales organization to provide technical alignment and guidance for customers building on the MongoDB data platform.
- This role involves working with a diverse range of organizations, from startups to large enterprises, to design reliable, scalable systems and drive business growth.
- The position requires a seasoned technical professional to act as a trusted advisor, collaborating closely with sales executives to win deals and ensure customer success.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable and performant applications, systems, and infrastructure leveraging MongoDB.
- Guide customers on architecture patterns and optimization strategies while articulating business value.
- Collaborate with sales teams on account planning, opportunity prioritization, and pipeline generation.
- Take ownership of technical discovery, demos, proof of value, presentations, sizing, and documentation.
- Proactively generate demand through technical initiatives and participation in industry events.
- Foster strong customer relationships and build champions to ensure satisfaction.
- Innovate and improve solutions and processes by relaying field feedback to the product team.
- Mentor other Solutions Consulting team members.
- Demonstrate thought leadership through publications, public speaking, or panels.
- Engage in ongoing professional development regarding the MongoDB product suite and industry trends.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of pre-sales experience navigating complex enterprise software sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience with modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Node.js, SQL, C/C++, Java, or C#.
- Experience designing scalable and highly available distributed systems in cloud and on-prem environments.
- Demonstrated ability to review complex application architectures and provide improvement guidance.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills for technical and business leadership audiences.
- Experience presenting at industry conferences or publishing articles, papers, or blog posts.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Sales Leadership to identify growth strategies.
- Strong understanding of sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Master’s degree or equivalent work experience.
