About the role
- The Corporate Accounting Manager helps build and scale the growing finance organization at Sonar.
- This role goes beyond traditional close and reporting to design processes, strengthen controls, develop and implement AI tooling, and partner cross-functionally.
- The Corporate Accounting Manager plays a critical role in day-to-day accounting operations while helping evolve systems, policies, and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules across core balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Lead process improvement and transformation initiatives that strengthen reporting quality, efficiency, scalability, and controls.
- Identify and implement opportunities to use automation, technology, and AI-enabled solutions within management reporting processes.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members and serve as a trusted resource across the broader finance organization.
- Assist with ongoing audits and liaise with external auditors.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience, preferably in software, with a Big 4 foundation and industry depth.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate across teams, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Direct experience designing, building, and deploying AI agents
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
- CPA or similar certification
Workplace
- In-office culture with three anchor days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Candidates need to be genuinely based in the location the role is posted with relocation support available for the right person.
