About the role
- The Crypto Product Compliance Lead supports product teams in developing and launching crypto products and services in alignment with regulatory requirements.
- This role serves as a primary compliance partner, providing guidance on product design, customer communications, and operational processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product, Legal, Risk, and Operations teams during the design, testing, launch, and enhancement of crypto products.
- Advise on regulatory requirements and operational processes including consumer protection, AML, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance.
- Develop appropriate compliance frameworks for new products.
- Review product features, customer communications, and marketing materials for regulatory and policy compliance.
- Provide timely guidance to business partners on compliance questions and regulatory developments.
- Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, filings, and internal compliance reviews.
- Develop and execute compliance testing and monitoring related to crypto products.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in financial services, including supporting crypto products within compliance, risk, legal, audit, or operations.
- Experience with brokerage products.
- Awareness of anti-money laundering, sanctions, and financial crimes compliance requirements related to crypto products.
- Experience advising on consumer protection requirements.
- Experience advising on DeFi projects.
- Strong understanding of MiFID requirements.
- Ability to manage projects and coordinate work across technical and non-technical teams in a regulated environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting compliance guidance to leadership.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with global crypto regulatory frameworks, including MiCA.
- Familiarity with traditional brokerage.
