About the role
- The Head of Sourcing Enablement & Delivery will lead sourcing operational delivery, contracting enablement, and AI transformation to support OpenAI's commercial growth.
- This senior leadership role involves building teams, systems, and service models while partnering with GTM, Sales, and Partnerships to drive procurement-industry adoption of OpenAI capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the organization by hiring and developing managers and defining team structure.
- Own sourcing enablement and delivery operations, setting service commitments and quality standards.
- Lead the sourcing operating rhythm, managing demand, priorities, and capacity planning.
- Strengthen contracting through partnership with Legal and Procurement Operations on lifecycle management and templates.
- Lead RACI development to define responsibilities, decision rights, and escalation paths.
- Create mechanisms to integrate sourcing into business decisions earlier in the process.
- Build and prove AI-enabled ways of working for sourcing and contracting experiences.
- Define Procurement’s commercial-enablement approach in collaboration with GTM, Partnerships, Legal, and Compliance.
- Bring procurement-buyer expertise into GTM to shape demonstrations, industry content, and customer conversations.
- Drive OpenAI adoption across the procurement industry by leveraging internal expertise and evidence.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or commercial leadership.
- Proven experience building or transforming a procurement capability through rapid growth or change.
- Experience managing managers and developing teams through coaching and performance management.
- Experience working in or closely with marketing, sales, or commercial teams.
- Deep knowledge of the procurement industry, including buyers, technology providers, and service firms.
- Experience turning AI, automation, or enterprise technology into functional capabilities.
- Ability to set direction, prioritize work, and explain tradeoffs in undefined environments.
