About the role
- Formlabs is seeking a Startup Founder to act as a mini-CEO, rapidly identifying, developing, and scaling new product lines and ventures.
- The role offers the infrastructure to build high-impact products across hardware, software, materials science, and business functions without bureaucratic drag.
Responsibilities
- Define Supply Chain Strategy & Vision: Act as the ultimate Supply Chain Owner, creating products and services that define the future of digital manufacturing by identifying cutting edge technologies and high-potential operational gaps.
- Own Business Outcomes: Don't just manage projects—drive P&L results by identifying new opportunities and scaling existing infrastructure.
- Build & Lead: Create and lead multi-disciplinary teams of talented engineers and operators, and hire and mentor the next generation of Formlabs leaders.
- Take Decisive Action: Make crucial, high-stakes decisions that directly impact core technology and business trajectory.
- Embrace the Ambiguity: Work at the intersection of complex disciplines including engineering, sales, manufacturing, and marketing while taking full ownership.
Requirements
- Proven Entrepreneurial Experience: Previously built a business or significant venture, demonstrating a high tolerance for risk and a bias for action.
- Comfort with Breadth: Direct experience creating multi-disciplinary technology products and understanding the full lifecycle from ideation to scale.
- Ownership & Hustle: Possess a 'get it done' mindset to do whatever it takes, whether pitching a customer, setting up a supply chain, or debugging a prototype.
- Adaptive Leadership: Excel at both hiring and leading teams while energized by a constantly changing, high-standard environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Degree or related
- Entrepreneurial experience like founding your own business
- MBA or experience in a consulting role
- Familiarity with manufacturing, supply chain, or product standards and compliance in industries like healthcare, pharma, or life sciences
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and materials
