About the role
- The Strategy & Operations team drives cross-company readiness and manages critical programs for OpenAI.
- This role focuses on managing internal alignment for major product launches, cross-cutting initiatives, and trust & safety issues.
- The position requires high maturity, executive presence, and the ability to navigate complex, high-profile situations.
Responsibilities
- Program manage special projects across Strategy and company-wide initiatives.
- Absorb information to frame decisions and communicate updates, recommendations, and trade-offs to product and executive audiences.
- Drive processes across teams to ensure a unified, efficient response during critical periods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and respond to fast-moving issues.
- Identify and prioritize emerging risks and escalations.
- Support sensitive investigations, product mitigations, and red-teaming.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of proven experience in Product/technical teams, Program Management, Crisis Management, Escalations Management, or Consulting.
- Demonstrated ability to work on and understand technically complex projects.
- Experience working on projects with a focus on integrity, operations, and trust & safety.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate challenges, recommendations, and trade-offs under pressure.
- Outstanding organizational and written communication skills, including drafting executive-level briefs or reports.
- Proven track record of effectively prioritizing and managing workloads.
- Ability to collaborate with teams to create systems and tools for internal processes and rapid response.
