About the role
- The Team Lead for Record to Report (R2R) is a hands-on leadership role based in Amsterdam within the FinOps department.
- This position focuses on building out the General Ledger (GL) and Tax Accounting functions while driving the operational shift from function-based accounting to process-owned streams.
- The role involves mentoring a multi-disciplinary team and engaging in system architecture and data pipeline development to support company growth.
Responsibilities
- Mentor, coach, and scale a multi-disciplinary team of GL and Tax specialists.
- Collaborate across Group Finance and with non-finance stakeholders including Procurement, Legal, Infrastructure, and HR.
- Drive stream-level automation initiatives across the R2R pipeline to streamline month-end closing.
- Manage GL activities related to OPEX, CAPEX, Intercompany, leases, and revenue/accounts-receivable accounting.
- Lead foundational work on data quality for system and product design to execute touchless tax returns.
- Provide support and information to internal and external auditors regarding GL and Tax Accounting data.
- Prepare variance analysis during the month-end closing process.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of work experience in financial accounting, tax compliance, and reporting within a multinational organization.
- Proven leadership experience.
- In-depth expertise across financial accounting and reporting.
- Strong people leadership skills to build and lead high-performance teams in an international setup.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics into easy-to-understand concepts.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a big picture view of finance as a unified data pipeline.
- High degree of self-motivation and an entrepreneurial mindset.
